Modern mobile devices are powerful computers with a myriad of sensors and ever more intelligent software, aimed at assisting humans in their daily lives. But the games played on them usually require no more than simple touch interactions and the expectation of a fantasy world safely contained inside an app.
The Picture Element attempts to subvert such common expectations of the player and force them to think outside the box of standard gameplay and narrative concepts. It is a game about games that takes place across the 4th wall, with the eponymous rogue pixel directly interacting with the player, and growing in intelligence with every encounter.
